Ferntree Gully's weed pressure is driven by three things working together: above-average rainfall, proximity to bushland seed sources, and the disturbed soil along reserve fence lines where most incursions start. Kikuyu is the dominant lawn weed and spreads laterally into garden beds and paving gaps rapidly through the growing season.
